Four Things To Do For Back To School

It seems like back to school snuck up on us this year, with the dog days of summer still in full swing as students sharpen their pencils for class. It’s never too late to prepare for the start of a new school year.

Back to school shopping

You may have gone back to school shopping already, but did you remember things like Kleenex, hand sanitizer, Neosporin, and bandaids? Kids are bound to bring home plenty of germs and scrapes from school, along with their homework. Don’t forget to pick up sunscreen for your student-athletes. Fall may be approaching, but the sun shines on in Texas.

Prepping your immune system

While we’re on the subject of kiddos bringing germs home from school, we have to address the fact that there’s always a back to school bug. With kids being back in a concentrated space for hours at a time, germs spread like wildfire. Prepare your immune system by getting the recommended amount of sleep, making sure the kiddos wash their hands thoroughly, and taking Vitamin C and D to boost your ability to fight off infections!

Water. Water. Water.

Since humans are 60% water, it’s important to stay hydrated to keep yourself in top condition. This goes double for athletes competing and practicing in the Texas heat! Make sure you’re getting the recommended amount of water with this nifty calculator!

Vaccinations and Physicals

Are your child’s vaccinations up to date? Has your student-athlete gotten their physical yet? Now is a great time to swing by Hillcrest Medical to take care of your back to school needs. And while you’re in the office, now is a great time for parents to get their physicals too!
